I am a parent of a child with special needs. Having learned early in my
pregnancy that my first child would be born with multiple birth defects and a speech and hearing impairment changed my life. I didn't imagine that I would be spending the first five years of her life talking with surgeons and therapist from all over the state. My child has a long road ahead of her but I am thankful for the support that I have from family, friends, and a great team of specialist and most importantly from other parents. I got involved with FSN-ENC and was able to meet other parents going through similar experiences as my own. I am now the Parent Coordinator for Wilson County and provide emotional support and help families find appropriate resources for them and their child.
