What We Do

The Family Support Network of Eastern NC offers a variety of services for families of children with special needs.  No matter where you are on your journey we are available to assist you.

Parent-to-Parent Matching: Sometimes, the best support comes from someone else who has “been there.” Research has proven that families raising children with special needs benefit significantly from the support of other parents in similar situations. Through our matching program, you can talk with a trained volunteer Support Parent who is raising a child with similar needs and challenges. Our access to state- and nationwide networks enables us to locate family matches even for rare conditions or situations.

This is for parents of children ages birth to 18.

Scrapbooking: For parents at Vidant Medical Center who have a child in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or who are on bed rest and at risk for a premature delivery, on Wednesday’s at 11:00 a.m.  Contact 252-847-0192

Support Parent Training: Throughout the year we provides a free training for parents who would like to volunteer to talk with other families in a similar situation.  Training is normally held on a Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2.  Call 252-917-4110 and 252-847-5120 if you are interested in more information.

Resource and referral: Contact us for free, family-friendly information regarding your child’s diagnosis. We can help you find the information you need.  Contact Brenda Boberg at  252-847-5120 or email brenda.boberg@vidanthealth.com.
