Annual Festival of Trees

Family Support Network Eastern North Carolina is honored to name David Worthington as the 2006 Volunteer of the Year for his outstanding contribution in helping us provide information to families in eastern North Carolina.

Every Wednesday David and his father arrive at the offices of FSN-ENC volunteer their time with a multitude of projects. David places the FSN-ENC name, address and phone numbers on information that is provided to families participating with the local program. Making copies of articles, fact sheets and other pertinent information is another way he helps the staff provide resource information to families.

David is the son of Dr. Worth and Darlene Worthington of Ayden. The family has been involved with Family Support Network of Eastern NC since David's birth. He was born 21 years ago at Pitt County Memorial Hospital at 24 weeks gestation, weighing 1 lb. 6 ozs. After David's birth Worth and Darlene got involved with the local and state Family Support Network providing Parent Support to other families who had a child born prematurely and families who have a child with a disability. Over the years they have continued serving with FSN-ENC as Support Parents and giving educational presentations to professionals as well as to the general public.
